The relationship between collection and analysis techniques in scientific research in geography teaching

Context: In this study, we emphasize the importance of data analysis in documentary research, using techniques such as content analysis and documentary analysis itself (Bardin, 2016). Our focus is on research in the field of geography education, employing the methodology of documentary research to collect and select articles, theses, and dissertations related to this area of study. Methodologies: To conduct our research, we adopted a qualitative approach and utilized the research platform of the journal portal and the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations (Capes) as data sources. Through these sources, we identified and selected a total of 12 works that align with the research line of geography education and were analyzed using the methodology of documentary research. Results: By analyzing the selected works, we observed certain patterns and also identified a gap in academic research related to geography education. These results provide valuable insights and can serve as a basis for future research, fostering discussions on new possibilities for expansion in the field of geography education.
