Context: The study was conducted in an Elementary School class at the Instituto de Aplicação Fernando Rodrigues da Silveira - CAp-UERJ, during the year 2023. Methodology: The research involved the analysis of children’s narratives about the city, using different forms of language, particularly literature. Considerations: The historical difficulties faced in the field of childhood represent significant challenges for elementary school teachers. Therefore, it is essential to explore and value children’s expression through various forms of language.
