Área transfronteiriça: considerações metodológicas

Resumo

No contexto da rica teorização das fronteiras, a importância nodal da área transfronteiriça exige articular seu potencial conceitual, metodológico e analítico. Com foco no tema das fronteiras estatais, através da revisão terminológica o artigo contribui para melhor estruturar a ideia de zona única, marginal para os centros dos dois lados da cisão, bem como para apresentar o transfronteiriço em suas capacidades de nível espacial de operação, um meio e uma ferramenta de análise. Em seguida, esboça o padrão do problema da área transfronteiriça que pode ser investigado dentro do mesmo quadro, sendo um problema transfronteiriço decorrente das percepções dos limites da responsabilidade soberana e manifestando-se em efeitos negativos de processos nas regiões internas da política e além da fronteira. O artigo também discute possíveis usos práticos da estrutura, fornecendo o exemplo de sua aplicabilidade em pesquisas de governança ambiental transnacional.
