Backgroud: NBR ISO 37,122 establishes indicators for smart cities. This concept is highlighted as a research priority by the Ministry of Science and Technology according to Ordinance No. 1.122/2020/MCTIC in two sustainability topics: Smart Cities and Environmental Control. Among the technological advances, the use of LED lights with remote control (remote control), in addition to energy efficiency, provides the possibility of an electronic device installed on each pole in the city with communication to the Control and Operation Center, creating a mesh accurate and geo-referenced information. On the other hand, to analyze the weather conditions of a city or municipality, there is a lack of availability of information on equipment installed in different places through online remote access, depending on delayed collections or even the use of high-cost communications, such as the satellites. For this project, the municipality of Palhoça/SC was chosen, in a region called Enseada de Brito, where the stations will be allocated for a period to extract the necessary data for a mesoclimatic analysis. Therefore, the general objective of this work is to associate meteorological measurement equipment with the communication provided by the telemanagement of public lighting systems, sending data continuously and instantaneously so that they can be analyzed and measured by an observation center, to (i) create a geoprocessing network, offering benefits for the monitoring of terrestrial and maritime environments; (ii) analyze climate changes in the region; (iii) analyze the behavior of maritime conditions in the region; (iv) interpolate terrestrial and marine data to analyze the behavior of a mesoclimate in the region. Results: Currently, the research project is in development.
