Context: Ecosystem services (ES) can be defined as “contributions that ecosystems make to human well-being”. Coastal areas, where coastal lagoons are located, produce a great diversity of ES, benefiting various groups of social actors, while at the same time being under increasing pressure from urbanization, human activities and the effects of climate change. The general objective of this study is to evaluate the ecosystem services produced by the lagoon system of Ibiraquera Lagoon and the effects of climate change on the quality and quantity of these services. The area delimited for the study is the Ibiraquera Lagoon watershed. Methods: cartographic analysis, photointerpretation and field visits to recognize and map the ecosystems present, focusing on the lagoon body; identification and classification of ES based on the Single International Classification of Ecosystem Services (CICES V5.1); literature review and validation of information based on the principles of “expert opinion”; conceptual model for assessing the risk of loss of ecosystem services due to climate change, based on IPCC projection scenarios; development of educational maps for educational use. Results: 11 ecosystems/environmental systems were mapped: lagoon (Ibiraquera Lagoon); lagoon (Lagoa Doce); marsh; fragment of secondary forest; dune; restinga; wetland; rivers; urbanized area; shrimp farming lagoons; and agricultural and pasture areas, which were vectorized and presented in a preliminary map of ecosystems of the Ibiraquera Lagoon Basin. For the mapped ecosystems, 67 SE were classified.
