Context: In the legal Amazon, the discussion on how the covid-19 pandemic affected the population tested public health capacity due to its complex territorial dynamics, socioeconomic inequalities, and health assistance limitations. In this context, the use of graphic modeling, based on coremas theory, supported by GIS, emerged as a promising approach to understanding the spatial implications of the disease's spread. Methodology:The study design was a prospective approach, using data on accumulated covid-19 cases made available by the Brazilian Federal Government's Coronavirus Brazil data portal, as well as basemaps from the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE). Graphic modeling, based on Roger Brunet's and Théry's graphic language, allowed the analysis of spatial patterns, including incidence and lethality maps. Conclusions: Graphic modeling revealed that the spread of covid-19 in the Legal Amazon originated from the state capitals toward regional municipalities. The analysis of territorial dynamics highlighted the importance of urban hierarchy, contagion flows, and health resources in the pandemic's evolution in the region. Geographic reasoning of the virus's propagation spotted weakness of the Amazonian cities and its implication, emphasizing the need for effective health policies and adequate infrastructure, in order to create emergency plans to reach most remote and deprived areas in outbreak planning.
